A New Kind of Board of education member for Northern Utah
Milo Anderson is a forward-thinking, down-to-earth candidate for Utah State Board of Education — Seat 1 who will strongly defend the rights of parents, support teachers and be a champion for ALL the students of Northern Utah.
Principles
-
“My top priorities will be to directly serve, represent, and find more funding and resources for schools in Northern Utah from kindergarten to Utah State University.”
-
“I will help find new, science-based educational subjects, methods and technologies that will truly prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st Century.”
-
Funding cuts to school counselors are unacceptable and directly hurt students with disabilities as well as students facing mental health issues. We MUST maintain funding these essential school staff members!
-
Teachers deserve better pay and less bureaucracy so they can focus on teaching. The staff who keep our schools running deserve higher pay too.
-
Stop private school voucher grifting that is defunding our public school system.
-
Diversity and equality should be celebrated rather than scapegoated. Our schools should be welcoming sanctuaries for ALL Utah students regardless of ethnicity, place of origin or gender.
-
“I plan to be a board member who really listens to all sides. Government works best when all parties involved are willing to appreciate each others points of view and reach a fair compromise.”
Why is Milo running
“I am a proud parent of a child with special needs. I am deeply concerned about budget cuts to school services he and many other children rely on to receive a fair education.”
“I think there is a silent majority that is fed up with an education system that does not represent us. I want to be a voice for the unheard stakeholders on the Utah State Board of Education.”
“Having taught at logan high school gave me insight into some of the many challenges teachers face everyday. I will always advocate for higher teacher and staff pay and for less burdensome bureaucracy.”
“I have always had a passion for education as a student, a teacher and as a parent. As a board member, I can represent all three.”
